  • By mid-February – all care home residents and staff; frontline health and social care staff; everyone over 70 and everyone who is clinically extremely vulnerable will have been offered vaccination.
  • By the Spring – vaccination will have been offered to all the other phase one priority groups. This is everyone over 50 and everyone who is at-risk because they have an underlying health condition.
  • By the autumn – vaccination will have been offered to all other eligible adults in Wales, in line with any guidance issued by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
In total, around 2.5m people throughout Wales could be offered Covid vaccines by September, depending on further advice from the JCVI.
The latest figures show more than 86,000 people have received the vaccine. Wales will publish daily vaccine figures from today.

Getting a Vaccine

Your health board will either write to you or call you to invite you to an appointment. Please do not try and call up to book one yourself – over next few weeks we expect vaccine deliveries to the Health Board will increase each week with more & more GP practices joining the programme along with the mass vaccination sites & all our care homes. It will take time so please be patient as staff are working hard on this.

Below is a vaccination centre map provided by Welsh Government.

The number of GP practices providing vaccines closer to people’s homes will have risen to 250 by the end of January as supplies of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine increases.

Be Aware of Scams

Scam text messages are circulating claiming to be from the NHS, inviting you for a coronavirus vaccine if you confirm your identity by entering your bank details. The NHS may invite you for a vaccine by text but they will NEVER ask for your bank details.
