I’m really pleased that after me raising concerns with South Wales Police about illegal e-bikes and scooters speeding in Cardiff East and causing danger to residents, a joint operation between South Wales Police and Cardiff Council has led to the seizure of over 130 illegal e-bikes and scooters from Cardiff’s streets.

Some of the vehicles seized were able to reach speeds of over 80mph, with no working brakes, posing serious risks to public safety. The crackdown will continue into autumn, with targeted enforcement across Cardiff East.

Keeping our streets safe is a priority and I’ll continue working with both the Police and the Council to ensure action is taken where it’s needed most.
