Young women at Ysgol Bro Edern are leading the way in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). I went to the school to meet Carys and Nia from Team Parabolica. They, along with Gwen have got through to the STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore this September where they will represent Wales.
They’ll be showcasing their skills in engineering, design, and marketing with the miniature F1 car they have developed.
I really enjoyed listening to how they have developed their car, put their business case and marketing strategy together and also hearing about the many STEM awards they have already won. They were absolutely inspirational.
The incredible opportunity to compete in Singapore this September comes with a significant cost, but it’s a powerful chance to inspire women and girls worldwide that they belong in STEM.
