Garden waste collections returned this month after a break for the winter. Following feedback from local residents in Cardiff East, I am pleased to share that Cardiff Labour Council has decided that this service will now be delivered all year around. This will be particularly helpful with leaf collections in the autumn which I know residents will welcome.

Cardiff is one of the best recycling cities in the world and garden waste collections help the city reach our targets, but it’s important residents use the service in the right way, recycling only the correct materials. To keep compost high quality, the council has advised residents to only put organic garden waste in their bins. Remove any non-garden waste items before collection and help push Cardiff even higher up the recycling charts.
