It’s fantastic to hear that Cardiff Central Station is set to undergo a major £140 million transformation. The proposed improvements will modernise the station and build the capacity needed to support the stations long-term passenger growth by reducing overcrowding and improving accessibility for everyone, including those with reduced mobility.

The larger concourse, new gate-lines, and improved waiting and retail facilities will significantly enhance the passenger experience. The addition of better cycle storage and smoother connections to other transport options is a great step towards a more integrated and sustainable travel system.

The project will be delivered with joint funding from the Welsh Government, the Department for Transport, and Cardiff Capital Region. The re-development of Cardiff Central Station will complement Cardiff Parkway which will deliver growth in Cardiff East and across the South Wales region.
