In July, voters elected a mission-driven UK Labour Government with a long-term plan to bring about a decade of national renewal. We are already getting on with the job boosting economic growth, building an NHS fit for the future, breaking down the barriers to opportunity, making Britain’s streets safe and delivering clean power.

That change won’t happen overnight but for the first time in 14 years we have a stable, united government focused on delivery. In just 100 days, we have already made some great progress in delivering on our six first steps for change. This includes:

• Introducing the Renters Rights Bill to give greater protection to renters by banning no fault evictions and making sure landlords are keeping homes safe.
• Introducing our Water Measures Bill to clean up our waterways
• Passing the Budget Responsibility Act to deliver our commitment to fix the foundations and start to rebuild Britain.
• Taking steps to ensure the Minimum Wage reflects the real cost of living
• Launching a National Wealth Fund to unlock investment and secure good jobs across the country
• Introducing our GB Energy Bill to deliver cleaner and more secure energy to drive down bills and create the jobs of the future.
• Scrapping the ban on onshore wind and unblocked solar schemes
• Pledging £22 billion of investment for carbon capture projects
• Establishing the Child Poverty Taskforce to begin the urgent work to tackle one of Britain’s biggest social injustices.

And we are just getting started. We did not win the election to govern on the basis of business as usual. This UK Labour Government will fix the foundations and rebuild Britain.
