The Prisons Watchdog (HM Inspectorate of Prisons) has reported that the UK Government us granting early release to high-risk offenders without risk management plans in place.
It’s being left to prison inspectors to tell the public the truth because this Tory Government is refusing to level with them on the scale of the prisons and probation crisis.
It’s time for the Rishi Sunak to come clean about what 14 years of Conservative chaos has done to our justice system.
The Government must now answer the following questions:
- How any prisoners have been released earlier ?
- The Prime Minister said dangerous offenders aren’t being released – has he misled the public and Parliament?
- What other measures to tackle the chaos in our prisons might be introduced, further threatening the safety of the public and insulting victims?
- Why doesn’t Rishi Sunak and his government come clean about their total hypocrisy?
- Why won’t the government back Labour’s calls to exempt domestic abusers from this scheme?
If the Tories can’t keep the public safe from violent criminals, then they should step aside for a Labour Government that will.
