Britain has so much potential. But right now we’re facing a cost of living crisis that’s holding us back – with mortgages, rent, food and energy all going up and up.

This economic crisis is down to 12 years of Tory failure and wasted opportunities.

The Tories say this is a global problem, but no other country is in this mess.

The UK economy grew 50% faster with Labour – at an average rate of 2.1% compared to just 1.4% since 2010. The UK is now forecast to have the lowest growth in the OECD over the next two years. Britain deserves better.

Labour would have two priorities going into the Autumn Statement.

We would put forward a proper plan for growth and make fairer choices.

We have a long-term plan to get our economy growing again – powered by the talent and effort of millions of working people and thousands of businesses.

It will be fairer, greener, and more dynamic economy:

• With jobs across every part of the country in renewables, nuclear power, in insulating homes
• With a modern industrial strategy where government works hand in hand with business
• By fixing business rates so our high streets thrive again
• Putting skills at the heart of our plan for growth

Our economy hasn’t been working for far too long. It’s time for a fresh start with Labour.
