I’ve just sent out my monthly newsletter for November, detailing my work in Cardiff East…
Congratulations to the following Cardiff Central based organisations who have recently received National Lottery Community Funding:
Cardiff Women’s Aid Ltd | Cardiff Women’s Aid Ltd will provide outreach and engagement, early intervention/prevention, aftercare-recovery and ongoing development via a volunteering and peer support network for women who have experienced VAWDASV (Violence against women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence). Over three years, the grant will fund 3 job posts, management, recruitment, training, marketing, monitoring and evaluation, translation, activities, and overheads.

Just Like Us

Just Like Us will provide an ambassadors’ programme for young LGBT+ people in Cardiff to deliver school talks that help increase awareness and understanding of equality issues. £10,000 will fund staff salaries, marketing costs, Welsh translation, and project overheads. |
Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel

Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel will continue and expand their current project to reduce health inequalities, improve access to health care and improve health and well-being amongst African communities. It will enable individuals to use creativity and self-expression to support well-being and reduce social exclusion. The project is a collaboration of four organisations led by the Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel – North Wales African Society, Jukebox Collective and Soel Connect.

Bigmoose
£10,000 |
Bigmoose will provide mental health therapies for people in crisis, and awareness raising sessions for business and schools. The grant will pay for the therapy, and mental health first-aid training.

A total of £794,580 has been awarded to community projects in Cardiff Central since February of this year.
The NLC is open to all applications that meet their criteria, including support during COVID-19.
They also working closely with WCVA and other funders to ensure we are forming the best support for Welsh communities.
They therefore welcome applications that meet their revised priorities.
