If you’re running a group or organisation making a difference in Cardiff Central, you could be eligible for funding from the National Lottery Community fund.

The NLC is open to all applications that meet their criteria, including support during COVID-19.

They also working closely with WCVA and other funders to ensure we are forming the best support for Welsh communities.

They therefore welcome applications that meet their revised priorities.

  • supporting organisations to adapt or diversify to respond to new and future challenges
  • supporting communities adversely affected by COVID-19
  • supporting communities and organisations to become more resilient to help them to respond better to future crises.

Congratulations to the following Cardiff Central based organisations who have recently received National Lottery Community Funding:

 

Displaced People in Action (DPIA) Over two years, Displaced People in Action (DPIA) will engage with their communities and undertake health literacy specific activities to asylum seekers and newly qualified refugees across Cardiff. The aim being to improve their ability to engage with Welsh culture and access public services through regular weekly workshops.

FILIA FILIA will use the grant to pay for facilitators, offering discussion events, public engagement training, and advice on capacity building for grassroots women’s organisations.

Friends of Cymru Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia

£99,916

Over two years, Friends of Cymru Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia will provide tailored and sensitive support to each family they work with. This includes helping to access welfare entitlements, ensuring they can get housing issues sorted, providing support with their children’s schooling, and helping them access their health care rights including whilst in hospital.
   
Menter Caerdydd

£10,000

 

Menter Caerdydd will provide a wellbeing and quiet space at their annual Welsh language festival, where older people and children with additional learning and behavioural needs can engage in activities. The grant will cover marketing, staffing and a yurt.

People and Places: Medium grants

£10,001–£100,000

  • Grants for voluntary or community groups.
  • Will fund revenue or capital expenditure lasting up to five years.
  • The most important thing is that you tell the Lottery about your community and how the project will make positive changes on the lives of people within it.
  • This is a one stage application process.

£100,001–£500,000

  • Grants for voluntary or community groups.
  • Will fund revenue or capital expenditure lasting up to five years.
  • The most important thing is that you tell the Lottery Fund about your community and how the project will make positive changes on the lives of people within it.
  • This is a two stage application process.
