This year Small Business Saturday will take place on Saturday 6th December. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy. In Cardiff Central we have many small business that form the hub of communities across the city; from our famous arcades in the city centre, to Albany, Wellfield and City Road, Crwys Road and Clifton Street to name a few.

Small Business Saturday exists to support, inspire and promote small businesses, whether they are long established or recent. It’s a grassroots campaign that encourages us to shop locally and support small businesses in our local community. The first Small Business Saturday was in 2013 and was a huge success driving more trade to small businesses (nearly £500m). Hundreds of events across the UK took place. It was the biggest celebration of small business the UK has ever seen.

Small Business Saturday is back this year on Saturday 6th December.  It enables us to put centre stage the great work that small independent businesses do in providing local jobs. Our local entrepreneurs need our support. I’ll be backing the campaign doing my shopping locally and I hope you will too.
