The current infection rate in Wales is 102 cases per 100,000. The current R rate is believed to be between 0.7-0.9.

Today we had the fantastic news that Wales has now offered a vaccine to everyone in the top 4 priority groups and will now begin work on vaccinating the groups below. If you are yet to receive a vaccination and are in the top 4 groups, please contact your GP or the NHS on 119.

Wales remains on track to vaccinate all 9 priority groups by the Spring, and today First Minister Mark Drakeford outlined that should infection rates continue to fall and the vaccine rollout continue to run smoothly, by Easter we should be seeing gradual relaxation of some of the heightened restrictions we’ve been living under since Christmas.

If we all keep working hard to bring the infection rate down over the coming weeks, we will not only keep our friends, family and wider community safe but keep working towards relaxations. Let’s keep going together.
