UCU strike action: my exchange of correspondence with Cardiff University Vice Chancellor Prof Colin Riordan

As more and more University Vice Chancellors depart from Universities UK’s plan to slash University staff pensions which is at the heart of the dispute, I have been in correspondence with Cardiff University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof Colin Riordan about his position.

I have published the exchange below and it’s very encouraging to read that the Vice Chancellor is responding positively and promptly to my concerns and those expressed by Cardiff UCU members, students and constituents unconnected to the University who support the UCU’s case.

I have acknowledged the response saying that I look forward to hearing the outcome of his representations to his colleagues at Universities UK.
