Small Business Street Surgeries

During August I have had the pleasure of visiting many of the fantastic businesses in Cardiff Central during my small business street surgery sessions. I recognise the key role that small businesses play in the building of our strong communities and understand the tough challenges that many small business owners face, especially when starting out.

These sessions have given small business owners the opportunity to discuss both national and local issues that affect them and allows them bring their concerns directly to me as their local MP.

So far I have visited businesses on City Road, Albany Road, Wellfield Road and Clifton Street.

These surgeries have served as a great opportunity for me to meet the hardworking, vibrant communities of small and medium sized businesses we are lucky to have here in Cardiff Central. They form the bedrock of our shopping centres and main roads and we are very lucky to have such a diverse range of businesses in the local community.

It was a particular pleasure to meet the people behind some of the newest businesses in the community- New York Diner on City Road and Il Gelataio on Wellfield Road.

If you are a small business owner in Cardiff Central and would like to raise any concerns, myself and my staff are always available in my constituency office at 116 Albany Road, Roath, CF24 3RU. Alternatively you can get in touch via email at jo.stevens.mp@parliament.uk or call 02921 329736.
