I have this week co-signed a letter with a number of my Parliamentary colleagues, calling on the Government to urgently review the licensing rules for Private Hire vehicles.
Some Private Hire drivers have been exploiting a clause in a 2015 law enabling them to gain a licence in one part of the country and then operate in another, even if they have been refused a licence there.
This is concerning and leaves local authorities struggling to ensure the safety of passengers and the public.
