The Big Lottery Fund, ITV and The National Lottery have teamed up to give the public the chance to decide how £3 million of National Lottery funding can make a difference in their area.
The People’s Projects is an opportunity to celebrate some of the incredible projects the Big Lottery Fund has supported over the past year. With 95 shortlisted across the UK, the public can now decide which groups should win up to £50,000 to develop their project further.
The three projects with the most public votes in each region will receive grants of up to £50,000. Voting is open now at www.thepeoplesprojects.org.uk.
Cardiff based The Worldwide Kitchen by Oasis hope to receive £50,000. This community group hope to use the funds to renovate the facilities and employ a catering manager in their kitchen to help improve the lives of refugees that access their free and good quality meals. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to improve their English and learn new cooking skills, boosting their confidence and giving them more employment opportunities.
Oasis Cardiff is a fantastic organisation and this funding would go a long way to further their work in supporting refugees in Cardiff.
