#MoreInCommon Great Get Together Events This Weekend

I have been so pleased to see that a number of Great Get Together events have been planned across Cardiff Central over this coming weekend.

The Great Get Together is inspired by my friend and colleague Jo Cox, who was killed on 16 June last year. We believe there is a groundswell of people who reject divisive politics and simply want to bring our communities together and celebrate all that unites us. This is our chance.

Jo’s family and friends came up with the initiative, and have teamed up with The Big Lunch to move their annual celebration. More than one hundred organisations are now supporting the Great Get Together and there are now just under 120,000 Great Get Together events planned around the country.

If you’re holding a Great Get Together and your event is not listed here, please let me know and I’ll do my best to come along and say hello! Just email jo.stevens.mp@parliament.uk.
